Norskjal is a mailing list hosted by The Icelandic Educational Network ISMENNT in Reykjavík. The issue of the list is translation and interpreting between Nordic languages, thus Danish, Norwegian, Swedish with pieces of Finnish, Faeroese, Greenlandic, Icelandic and English when in trouble! The name of the list is derived from Nordic and the Icelandic word for an authorized translator, skjalaþýðandi, where the meaning of 'skjala' is 'document'. Subscription is, however, not limited in any way. Everybody interested in the issue may subscribe. Om Norskjal Norskjal er en postliste på Det islandske kundskabsnet ISMENNT i Reykjavík. Diskussionsemnet på denne liste er oversættelse og tolkning mellem nordiske sprog, altså dansk, norsk, svensk og måske finsk, færøsk, grønlandsk, islandsk og engelsk, når det kniber! Navnet på listen er afledt af Nordisk og det islandske ord for en autoriseret oversætter, skjalaþýðandi, hvor 'skjala' betyder 'dokument'. Using Norskjal
To post a message to all the list members, send email to norskjal@listar.ismennt.is. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Norskjal
Subscribe to Norskjal by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
